    • Limited to a Page:
The first and foremost thing to be kept in mind while building up a resume is not to exceed the page limit to more than one. Creating a lengthy resume completely creates a negative impact on the recruiters. Although, It is challenging to describe the achievements to date in a brief, however, you need to know which achievements to include to channelize the skill set as per the job role and industry type.
    • Divide resume into 5 sections:
A majority of the candidates do not provide proper information according to the fields. Divide the resume into 5 different sections to provide the relevant details. The 5 different sections include personal information, education details, work details, additional skills and lastly extra-curricular achievements. People mainly miss out on the extra-curricular field but it is what helps the recruiters to understand the exact skills and abilities that would be suitable for the job.
    • Use standard format:
Resumes are formal documents and therefore should be kept in a formal style and font. Trying to experiment with the resume format and style is not all advisable. It will never help you to stand out but rather, create a negative impact on the recruiters.
    • Depict your Soft Skill:
One of the crucial factors that would enable you to land in the staffing and consulting industry is the depiction of your soft skills in the resume. The industry seeks for different skills and abilities like leadership quality, entrepreneurship abilities, problem-solving attitude, and others. Not adding up these specific skills may disqualify your resume for the next round of recruitment.
    • Include Action Verb:
Writing lengthy paragraphs in the resume stating your skills and experience will never bring you that job. Instead, highlight and add up the Action Verb at the initial part of the sentences and make bullets to make the recruiters easily notice the skills. These are the skills that the staffing agency seek in a candidate. For example, the action verb will be used like “Team Leader of a team of 10 members”.
    • Uniqueness:
The recruiters come across hundreds of resumes for a single job profile, of which most of them appear the same. Make sure to draft your resume in such a unique way, that it stands out among the crowd of people who have applied for the same position. Even if you have volunteered for an NGO, mention it to make it different.
    • Proofread:
The last and important step is checking and double-checking your resume. Proofread it several times before sending it to the recruiters.

The IT Staffing agencies in India as well as abroad are seeking candidates with proper soft skills and qualities that would help the organization grow.
